Timberwise DriPlas - Plaster Additive

Timberwise DriPlas - Plaster Additive

  • £31.95

DriPlas from Timberwise is a high-specification plaster additive that forms an integral part of the DryTek Damp proofing System.

Following the installation of a remedial Damp Proof Course (DPC) correct re-plastering is of the utmost importance. Even though the DPC is effective, hygroscopic salts introduced by the rising damp may cause moisture to be attracted to the wall. This causes further dampness and decorative spoiling, giving the impression that the DPC has not been successful.

It is for this reason that re-plastering following the installation of a remedial DPC must perform two functions:

  • It must prevent the passage of residual moisture reaching the decorative surface during the drying process.
  • It must prevent the passage of hygroscopic salts from the underlying masonry to the new decorative surface in order to prevent further spoiling.

Timberwise DriPlas is a replastering additive designed to minimise the passage of liquid water through the pore structure of cement renders, thereby preventing the transfer of salts to the surface. Re-plastering should be carried out as long as possible after the insertion of a remedial damp-proof course. Ideally the new plaster should be applied to surface-dry walls, but in any case a drying period of at least 14 days should be allowed between installation and replastering wherever possible

Timberwise DriPlas comes in a 5L pack. Price includes VAT and delivery.
